The Elves are native to the continent of I’ille Drakhariin. Since the Old World’s discovery of the continent, some have ventured West to explore the Old World, but most sill live in I’ille Drakhariin.

The Elves call their homeland Ka’ath’il, or Gift of Dragons, because they believe that the world was created by dragon-gods, hundreds of thousands of years ago. Chief among these gods was Io, a great platinum dragon who is considered to be the father of all good dragons; it is he who the Elves primarily worship. Despite the fact that dragons have been extinct for nearly 400 years in the Old World, and they have, according to the Elves, been gone for far longer in Ka’ath’il, Elvish culture and their traditional way of life is based in strong reverence for the metallic dragons. I’ille Drakhariin’s Elven Nation is composed of large communities who have lived thousands of years emulating the demeanor and lifestyle of the various metallic dragons. The tribes are identified by which dragon type they devote their lives to.

Brass Elf

Brass elves tend to live in or near warm deserts or dry steppes. Due to the scarce resources in their preferred environments, many tribes are nomadic, following prey, vegetation, and the rare desert monsoon. Most groups have an established route, moving between oases and other sheltered areas.
Brass elves have a strong oral tradition and much joy and recreation is had in trying to out-story one another over campfires and retelling epic tales. Though not without written histories, they are generally kept few and portable as to not burden the group on the move. Some groups store more permanent records (scrolls, tablets, and the like) in dry, private desert caverns. Though often wary of outsiders, they have a seriously held belief in hospitality and enjoy information from the world beyond their homes. Make no mistake, however, when needed, they defend their tribe with ferocity.
Brass elf skin tends to be tanned from exposure to the sun. Eyes are amber, yellow, red, brown or black, with hair tending to be red, white, or blond. Brassy flecks or pure brass-colored eyes or hair often indicate draconic influence in the elf’s ancestry.

Bronze Elf

Bronze elves are most often found near large or deep bodies of water, be it coastlines, lake shores, or even wide inland seas and make their homes among the hills and cliffs therein. They are accomplished sailors and fisherman and even small settlements have a small fleet of boats.
Despite having a strong military history, bronze elves are not expansionary, focusing on providing protection for their cities and rooting out occasional larger threats to their kin. Bronze elf paladins are not uncommon, with an equal number posted to protecting settlements as wind up itinerant knights, providing protection and promoting good throughout their lands.
Bronze elf skin tones range from pale to ruddy brown, frequently sun-darkened among regular sailors. Eye colors tend to be green, yellow, or hazel, with dark blue or blue-black being rare. Metallic orange flecks in the eye color is seen an indicator of good fortune or great destiny. Hair usually ranges from white through blond and brown, often sun-lightened.

Copper Elf

Copper elves make their homes in rocky highlands and plateaus. They are excellent stonecrafters, often building dwellings into cliff faces and using expended mines as storage and living areas. Unlike dwarven work, copper elf mines are dug with large open areas and even decoratively carved (unnecessary work, dwarves would say) as they go. Cliff dwellings usually feature broad balconies with breathtaking vistas.
In addition to stonework, copper elves are excellent hunters and hold many competitive hunts among themselves throughout the year. Small hunting lodges are built and kept regularly stocked across their lands for (and by) any hunters that find themselves in need.
In social interactions, copper elves tend to be jokesters; they will often greet a new person by pulling a prank on them. They also delight in riddles, and are known for winning good coin on a game with even the most crafty of opponents. Fair or not, copper elves tend to judge the personality of an individual, or even sometimes of a whole race, based on their reaction to their antics, and whether or not they can answer their riddles.
Copper elf skin tones tend to range in the copper-ish color of their namesake, but can sometimes vary either darker or lighter. Eyes tend to green, brown, or hazel, with coppery flecks or rings running in certain families. Hair tends to red, brown, or black and can have a burnished gleam in the sunlight.

  • Cliff Jumping: Living and hunting in the highlands has trained copper elves to be extremely motile. Copper elves can make standing long jumps and high jumps as if they were running ones.

Gold Elf

Gold elves can be found living in mountainous retreats, usually in or near river heads and temperate or high forests. Wise and regal, gold elves take the role of arbiters and counselors when representatives of the elven nations meet. They live in elegant castles with towering spires that have been magically shaped out of the living rock.
Gold elves are scholars, philosophers, priests, and magicians. Their goldsmiths create delicate works of art and their wizards shape formidable and sublime enchantments. Though they can come off as arrogant or self-involved, gold elves can back it up and are a powerful force for good when roused (even if everyone may not agree with their methods). They are unusually hierarchical for elves and relish the pomp and circumstance that comes with it. Luckily for their friends, this also applies to their alliances and dignitaries.
Gold elf skin tones range from pale to bronze and hair color is most often coppery red, golden blond, or black. They typically have green or black eyes, frequently with metallic flecks or accents.

Silver Elf

Silver elves prefer to make their homes in mountainous forests or secluded valleys in mountains and hills. They make their living places from carefully grown living trees or painstakingly carved wood and gathered or shaped stone. When most other races think of elves, silver elves most closely resemble their stories and ideas.
Silver elves are the most amiable of their kind and have more contact with non-elves than the rest of their kin. They can be boisterous, finding joy in everything they do. Feasting, dancing, music, magic, and even fighting can be done well and enjoyed. They frequently serve as diplomats between elves and the other races and more often have alliances with them.
Silver elves are almost always pale, even with regular exposure to the sun. Their hair is normally black, brown, or white and rarely midnight blue or silver. Their eyes are most often various shades of blue, black or green with silvery streaks not being unheard of.
